Action; PG-13

1996

I feel like this movie is very overhated. I came into this movie expecting the worst, and it actually was pretty good!

Talk about a hook. The first scene was GRIPPING. The sound was amazing throughout the whole movie, the acting was fine I guess, and while the effects were sometimes not the best, this movie was still much better than I was anticipating.

Let's take a moment to acknowledge those special effects. At first I let it slide because I thought it was made in the early 90's, like 1991. Turns out, it was made in 1996. This was after Jurassic Park (which was also written by the same guy, Michael Crichton) and yet somehow the effects were not as great. Curious.

Also, I watched Twisters a while back and while I do love Glen Powell, this movie was much, much better.

The only thing I don't get is the whole Dorothy thing. Like yeah, when they're in the air, it's cool. But then the tornado dissipates and then what?

Idk. Overall, surprisingly good movie. Sure, it's a little unrealistic in parts, but WHATEVER. Still a fun watch.

Am I glad I watched it? Yes. Would I watch it again? I think so, yes. Would I recommend it to a friend? Definitely.

Favorite Character

Melissa!

She was honestly a very sane person. Usually, the rich girlfriends with their rich fiances start acting crazy when their fiances go do stuff that isn't rich-person like. But Melissa didn't do that! In fact, she went up to her fiance and told him, with love and care, that he didn't belong to her, but instead to Jo.

AW!!! Like, that's so sweet :,)

Also it was obvious she was uncomfortable throughout the time she was venturing, but she wasn't super obnoxious and didn't bitch about it the whole time.

Yeah. I liked her!!!
