I'm gonna start out by saying that this is one of the best sequels of all time, in my opinion.
It keeps the themes of the first movie well and also offers a whole new perspective on it all, along with being an overall good movie as well. It adds more to the plot and has a new look on things so everything feels fresh but the old themes from the first movie are still prominent so it still feels like a part of the first movie.
I tried not to do this with the first review, but I have to get a little nerdy on this one by giving some backstory: Saw was supposed to be it's own thing. So when people started telling the creators of Saw that they want a second, no one knew what to do, until they met another guy who was trying to pitch his idea of a movie got rejected bc it was too much like Saw. So the creators found this guy, changed his script with him to make it relevant to Saw, then made him director and put out the movie almost exactly a year after the last one.
That little backstory is supposed to help somebody understand why it's so different to the original. It's less of a thriller and focuses more on the traps (because they were a fan favorite) while also having a good, original plot that works with the other movie.
That being said, this was a goodmovie in it of itself. The plot was good, the twist was good, the characters were good. Overall, this movie was GOOD.
If I were to give this movie a one-worded review, I would say "fresh", since the first movie was set in one place, it's still a good movie, but there's only so many times you can watch it. But in this movie, many other things happen with lots of characters to keep track of, so watching it over and over is definitely a viable option.
Also ts has one of the best traps can't believe I forgot about ts but the venus flytrap??? Ts has GOT to be one of my favorites in the series. Kudos, kudos...
If I was crazy, I might even say that this is better than the original. But I'm not, so I won't say that. But it is still a good movie, even if it's a little gorier and horror-y-er, I still think it's a great movie and a TERRIFIC sequel.

Amanda!
In this movie, she gets a fresh new look, and I honestly love it a lot. I like her hair a lot and I think this is my favorite Amanda of the series AND of the movie.
That being said, I know I said I like the characters but that's because they're so different and stuff. I don't actually LIKE a lot of them.
Like from my knowledge, Daniel is a fan favorite, and while he's okay I guess, he's kind of just mid and doesn't do anything but yell at his dad. Idk.
Also Amanda gets the coolest trap sorry razor box fans but the needle pit was so gas like it has to take the cake for ts movie...
