Okay so I watched this movie a whileee ago with some friends in like fifth grade, and I think that this is one of the first movies that I actually felt super duper fixated on. I remember the characters being super funny and full of life, and I honestly loved all of them for how unique each of them were.
However, the fixation bubbled away and I watched this movie again with a much less fixated view, and I could focus on the elements of the movie that made it a horror movie, not just the characters. And honestly, it did a pretty good job.
You have scenes where it's all dark and you feel unnerved because it's the big unknown, y'know? But I think this movie is actually really good at not making the entire setting dark.
Most of the scenes in this movie were shot in the daytime, since that's usually when kids hang out, so it makes sense, in the bright sunlight with no rain. And they still made this movie feel scary, y'know?
They have multiple elements that have no nonchallance at all, like a bright red balloon and a bright yellow raincoat and other bright clothes that kids wear, along with the orange of pennywise and such, and yet the movie is still frightening. I think they did a really good job of that.
Also, I read the book, and while there are some things that they left out, I think that they did a pretty good job trying to get as close as you can to the book without adding anything that would make you want to murder Stephen King, iykyk.
But yeah. The characters are good, the scariness of the actual movie is good, the acting is good... in fact, most things about this movie are pretty freaking good. Cheers all around.

okay so in my memory, I remember Georgie dying and then not giving a single crap about him for the rest of the movie. But watching it again, I realize that is TOTALLY untrue.
I mean, Georgie's death is honestly the saddest part of the movie. Like I totally get Bill's perspective and I would probably do similar things to get him back. I can't imagine losing my sister. (however, pennywise turning into Georgie and then tricking Bill like 30 times lowk got me pissed off. But that one part where he shot "Georgie" bro that was so tuff!)
speaking of Bill, since when did this become the Bill and Richie show? From what I remembered, their fight didn't really matter at all and it might not have as much as I think, but like it was lowkey super prominent in the movie for some reason.
Also let's talk about Mike? He was lowkey a really prominent character in the movie. Like, that's the first Loser we see, we lowkey know his backstory more than any of the other Losers (besides like Eddie? Maybe? And Bill ig) but like??? he doesnt DO anything. Yfm?
Also why didn't Pennywise kill any of the Losers. Like, there were multiple times where he could've just, like, killed them. And like I get it's cuz they weren't scared or whatever, but when Ben was running away from the headless guy and when Mike was confronted by his dying parents or sum, and when Eddie was running from the Leper and when Beverly had blood all over her bathroom, idk about yall but they all seemed pretty scared. Why didn't he like, just kill them?
Also, like, what was the point of Henry. Why did Pennywise need him to kill everyone. Like, why doesn't he just kill Henry? Don't get me wrong -- I liked him as a bully character, but like, why does Pennywise need him to do all of the dirty work?
Anyway. Yeah. Sorry for the rant. Ts movie is lowkey not how I remember it at all... still reeeeally good tho.
Am I glad I watched it?
Yes
Would I watch it again?
Yes
Would I recommend it to a friend?
Yes

Stan!
He might not have been the absolute funniest, but he was lowkey right about a lot of things and he was pretty freaking funny at some points.
Like, I feel like he was the smartest out of the rest of them. He lowkey didn't want to do anything and I know nobody can hate him for that cuz i know I wouldn't wanna do any of that crazy clown bs. He's super real for that.
Also like he was freaking scared ash and he still like fought n stuff like??? okay if i were him i would leave town until the whole thing was over. But he was brave and yay!!!
Close seconds were Richie and Bill bc Richie's funny ig and I like nerdy funny characters and at first I didn't like Bill (like when I first watched it a while ago) but lowkey he was actually a really good character. Ben and Mike are also somewhere up there. And Eddie and Beverly.
Lowkey... all the characters were good. Just Stan in the best, ig. One could say... Stan is the Man. haha. haha.
