This is NOT the movie that I was expecting it to be.

This movie was probably one of the scariest movies I've ever seen, and on top of that, probably also one of the most cinematic.

I mean, the use of red throughout the movie, and the sets are beautiful and the scenes are great and the still cameras help inhance the fact that it was so scary with probably, like, one jumpscare through the entire thing.

However, I also think that it was overglazed a little. YES, it's a great movie. But plot-wise? Like...

I feel like overall, the whole satanic-killer aspect of horror movies is wayyy overdone. I've seen movies that do pull it off, and movies that definitely need some help.

This also reminded me a LOT of Sinister. I thought Sinister was a great movie. It was scary, and it had all the aspects of a good film. But the more we got to know about the killings, the less scary it was. The scariest part, I guess, was the unknown.

And I feel like it was the same here. In the beginning, it was super duper scary. But then near the end, you know what's going on, so it gets less and less so. Also Longlegs, as the character, was just not scary to me. Yeah, Nicolas Cage was GREAT, but I mean, he shared information and talked and lowkey he just became annoying. Like, just spit it out.

Anyway, yeah. Great movie. Whilst the plot might have been a bit overdone, I still think that it pulled it off really well and that this is one of the best scary movies I have yet seen.

Okay so like when Lee's mom shot the Lee doll, why did she do that? Like, why did she want Lee to break the tie with her and the devil if she still wanted to continue Longlegs' legacy?

Well I guess not anymore, since he died. But then why are you even carrying his jegacy with Ruby anyway?

Also, why the 14th? It doesn't make any sense to me. Why not the 4th? Or the 13th, to match the theme of the movie?

Also, the ending was lowkey mid. Like, Lee isn't able to shoot the doll. Oh no! If only we could bring it to the police quarters and shoot it there, or even bring a rock and break it that way, for that matter. Whatever will we do!

Idk. It's prolly one of those movies where I'm lowk missing something but idk.

Favorite Character

Lee!

Lowkey, she kind of annoyed me at times. At she was NOT watching her back for most of the movie. But she was one of the only characters who like, took initiative of anything.

Like, she figured everything out, found everybody. She lowkey did everything. Yay, Lee!

But then again, I don't think she even came close to the best detective character. She was lowk annoying but whatever. Problem-solving character. You got to love them ig.
