Mystery; PG-13
2022

This is honestly a great second movie. Most series have difficulty with the second and third movies and trying to make them original AND link back to the first movie AND have a new look at the characters. And honestly I think this movie did the whole second movie thing great. But of course, you know I have some feedback.
In the first movie, Enola was perceived as all these things that her mother taught her to be. She was taught to be independent and not to rely on other people and to make her own path. And while the latter is definitely represented in this movie, I think that her independent heart was robbed in this movie.
The first movie did a great job of making the characters but focusing on Enola, but I feel like this movie tries to focus on the other characters. The whole thing was that Enola didn't want anyone to help her, even from the first movie. Yet people help her throughout this entire movie. She wouldn't have solved the case if it wasn't for helpers.
But then again, you can argue that it shows an important message about how even the strongest fighters beed help sometimes, no matter how much they don't want it or want to do everything independently. But then again... I just think it could've been approached better.
So Enola's character kind of took a turn and it was okay. But the actual movie was good. The plot, the characters, etc.
I actually like what they did with this movie. They made it mostly about a case and they went through with it the whole movie. I actually liked that aspect a lot, and it tied this series more to the Sherlock Holmes series. I don't think they needed to add more of Sherlock in order to do that, but y'know. Still a good choice.
Also, the mystery aspect was good. I didn't like more Sherlock time and how him and Enola were practically working together the entire movie, but I actually did like his character and his time a lot. That's more of a dependent Enola thing.
But yeah. Good second movie. Very enjoyable.

Enola and lord tewkssomething got together finally!!!! YAY!!!!!!
yeah that was it ig just mad about the independent thing but ill get over that eventually ig...
Am I glad I watched it?
Yes
Would I watch it again?
Maybe
Would I recommend it to a friend?
Probably

Enola!
Yeah, I know I was just dogging on her about how she wasn't independent enough, but honestly she was still the best character.
If I was crazy, I would say Sherlock was better. But he has his own series so he gets knocked down just to keep his ego in check.
But yeah. Still sassy and great like the other movie. Just more dependent. If it was anyone other than Enola, I would say there was nothing wrong with that, but since she was a character molded around being independent, I feel like there is in fact a little wrong with that.
But still! She was great. Best fandom OC I have yet come across in media.
